TONY JERACI - Class of January 2009
His Film: "Hummusity in Desperate Times"
Actor’s Film School is truly one of the most unique film schools out there. I have yet to find a more rigorous eight-week program that will teach you all the essentials of do-it-yourself filmmaking. Small classes that provide close attention and hands-on learning was the best part. Also, after completing four shorts in two months, you’ll feel confident to pursue that feature film you’ve been holding on to. I can’t stress it enough: after this class, you will know how to be (and if you want to be) a filmmaker. Monroe’s class covers it all, from the early stages of pre-production through the final elements of post. Whether you’re a novice filmmaker looking to learn the basics, or someone who’s worked on films before but wants to get four short films under his/her belt, then I highly recommend taking this class.

CURT NIELSEN - Class of January 2009
His Film, "Dear John"
As an actor, I've had no better, in-depth training in the medium of film than Actors Film School. While directing, shooting and editing my own film, I analyzed the different takes of my own performance. I realized the power and limits of the camera, lighting, and angles, and how to most effectively enhance the power of my acting. I've learned what the editor needs, and what makes the director thrill -- because I've worn all those hats in completing my own film and working on those of my classmates. And, through Actors Film School, I've had the good fortune of working with people who've completed their own highly regarded films and shared their invaluable expertise. Where else can an actor gain that confidence and on-camera training so affordably and quickly (and have so much fun doing it?) I put a star in my pocket with the Actors Film School experience and would recommend it to anyone who may considering it.

CAROLINE POPPELL - Class of January 2009
Her Film: "Open Call"
I would definitely recommend this course to someone who wanted to learn the basics of making a movie. This course has not only given me the ability to make a feature, but I now have the confidence. Stay tuned for my feature- "Risk-Free Departure" in 2010!

ARTHUR BROWN - Class of November 2008
His Film: "The Return of Captain Schticklach"
I am writing to endorse Monroe Mann’s Actor’s Film School. In the course of seven weeks, we’ve written original scripts, broken them down by shot, used a unique system for determining props costume and cast, studied lighting technique, as well as proper camera usage – and most importantly – completed our films! Monroe is both knowledgeable and inspirational – guiding us, in an extremely organized and foresighted fashion – to a result-driven process incorporating the best practices of film-making.

RYAN WHITE - Class of November 2008
His Film: "Yes I Can"
I love this course! Monroe really sets everyone up for success. I love all of the simple yet powerful tips I have learned in the short time I have been attending this course about acting, filmmaking, and running a business, and creating a successful career. One of the best things about the program is that it is so flexible to each person's needs. Not only that, but it's loads of fun! I recommend it to anyone who is interested in a career in acting and filmmaking. Seriously, Monroe, thank you so much for presenting your ideas and philosophies to me and the rest of the class. You have great energy, and your passion for life and all its possibilities and success is amazing. During the class portion, I loved what you shared on speaking your accomplishments and not being afraid to sell your services. During the production portion, I loved how hands-on it all was, and how we all were a part of our fellow classmates' films. I really loved being a part of your film program because I know that working with successful people is so important. And I believe in you. Thanks again.

JAMES OLIVER - Class of November 2008
His Film: "Mahiana"
Hello Prospective Student: I met Monroe at a seminar where he was teaching a workshop on how to produce your own projects, and was very impressed by his drive and willingness to excel at everything he does. I joined the film class in an attempt to improve on my voice acting for voice over gigs. Little did I know how much more I would be getting by enrolling in Actors Film School. In addition to improving my acting voice, I have also learned how to write my own screenplay, how to direct a film, and how to act in films. As a producer, I have learned the importance of preparation and organization. The coolest thing about the class besides the close friendships you establish is the hands-on interaction. No sitting in a boring class room setting. It's "on the move" fun and a relaxing atmosphere, despite the rigorousness of the program. Also, you're not left out there on your own. Everyone has a stake in seeing your project through to the end, and Monroe makes sure you not only write your screenplay, but is there with you on set every step of the way helping you to produce it, and is there helping you through the editing process as well. Great job Monroe... rock on!

REBECCA THOMAS (Summer 2009)
Her Film, "The Money Maker"
"After being a student at Actors Film School I have overcome the fear of putting my words into action. It's amazing to have the ability to create and shoot my own films. Did I write that film? Yes I did! Did I create that character? Yes I did! Did I shoot, edit, and produce my first short film ever? Yes I did! This really is a great school! Hopefully it will change how the actor is perceived by the world. It's great for other actors, writers, and directors to learn how to take matters into their own hands. It's nice to know I won't be dusty and old waiting for my big break to come. Thanks Monroe!" |

ZELIKA CHANTE (Fall 2009)
Her Film: Bend The Universe
"The great thing about Actor's Film School is that you're guaranteed to be cast in four films. Not only do you get to act, but you learn how to direct, write, produce, and edit your own film. No short cuts! You do exactly what the pros do. Shooting schedules, shot lists, location scouting, setting up lights, makeup, marketing... I could go on and on, but you get the point. This class sets you up for the real world. You learn exactly what the pros know so you can become one yourself. What's also great about AFS is that it sets you up for your future. You leave the class with your ultimate star project and a five year plan, so you can get started on succeeding right away. Everyone knows creating your own films is the next step to success, but the first step starts at Actor's Film School." |
